Bill to rename city post office for fallen Lebanon police officer is signed into law

May 15, 2024

The post office at 101 S. 8th St., Lebanon, has been renamed the Lieutenant William D. Lebo Post Office Building in honor of a Lebanon city police officer who lost his life in the line of duty.

Lt. Lebo, a 40-year veteran of the city police force, was killed on March 31, 2022, while responding to a domestic-related burglary incident. He was just 30 days from retirement at the time of his death.

Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) introduced House Resolution 3865 to authorize the renaming. President Joe Biden signed the bill into law on Monday.
