Congressman Meuser Announces Staff Changes

February 13, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) today announced several changes to his Pottsville office, including a staff departure, a promotion, and a new hire.

District Director Nathan Gerace, a key member of Congressman Meuser’s team since his first term in 2019, will depart the office on February 18th to join Senator Dave McCormick’s Pennsylvania leadership team as Northeast Director.

Michael Shay, previously Director of Constituent Services & Grants, has been promoted to District Director. A longtime member of Congressman Meuser’s staff and former aide to Rep. Lou Barletta, Shay will now oversee the congressman’s district operations and team.

Additionally, Evelyn Datte will soon join the Pottsville office as District Coordinator. A 2024 graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in Political Science and Public Policy, Datte previously served as Finance Director for the Pennsylvania GOP.

"For six years Nathan has been an invaluable member of our team, and while we’ll certainly miss him in Pottsville, I know he’ll bring that same commitment to serving Pennsylvania in his new role with Senator McCormick,” said Congressman Meuser. “Michael Shay has spent years working directly with the people of PA-09, problem solving, and ensuring constituents get the help they need in an effective and timely manner. He brings a deep understanding of our district to the role, and there’s no one better suited to lead our district team. I’m also pleased to welcome Evelyn Datte—her energy, expertise, and passion for public service will make her an asset to our office as we continue working for the people of Northeast Central Pennsylvania."

Michael Shay Promoted to District Director

Michael Shay has served in Congressman Meuser’s office since 2019, most recently as Director of Constituent Services & Grant Specialist. A Schuylkill County native, he previously worked for Congressman Lou Barletta and brings over a decade of experience in constituent services and community outreach to his new position. Outside of the office, he is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bloomsburg University, now Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg.
