Congressman Meuser Secures $4.2 Million for Two Luzerne County Community Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that he secured $4.2 million in federal funding to support two major community projects in Luzerne County. Funding for these projects was included in the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act.
Dallas School District Community Center Improvements — $3,500,000
Funding will upgrade a wellness space serving the school district and Greater Back Mountain Region, expanding access to physical, social, and community wellness activities year-round.
Old Airport Road Improvement Project, Butler Township — $700,000
The project will reconstruct and improve drainage along approximately 1.2 miles of Old Airport Road, enhancing roadway safety, stormwater management, and transportation reliability.
“These are the kinds of investments that will improve the quality of life here in Luzerne County, from safer roads to improved facilities for our local schools,” said Congressman Meuser. “Each one grew out of direct conversations with local leaders and reflects the priorities of the communities they serve. I was pleased to work hand in hand with the Dallas School District and Luzerne County to secure this funding so students have every opportunity to thrive, and residents can count on infrastructure that is built to last.”
