MEUSER RECEIVES SPIRIT OF ENTERPRISE AWARD FROM U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) was awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during a virtual presentation hosted by the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes Congressman Meuser’s continued support of pro-growth policies in the first session of the 116th Congress:
“Since coming to Congress, I have worked to ensure that businesses across the nation can thrive, create jobs and spur economic growth,” said Rep. Meuser. “The coronavirus pandemic brought unprecedented challenges for employers and employees who have suffered from a crisis they had no part in creating. Chambers across the 9th District have played an important role in advocating for the safe reopening of our economy to protect lives and livelihoods. As we continue a Great American Comeback, it is imperative that government respond to the needs of the business community, rather than dictate burdensome and misguided regulations. I am honored to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award and will continue to support policies that drive opportunity and prosperity for the American people.”
“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was honored to recognize Congressman Meuser with our coveted Spirit of Enterprise Award,” said Ryan Gleason, Congressional & Public Affairs Manager at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “The Congressman has been a great friend of business during his first term in Congress. We look forward to his continued partnership and know that businesses in Pennsylvania’s 9th District are better off because of him.”
“The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in presenting the Spirit of Enterprise Award today to Congressman Meuser,” said Robert S. Carl, Jr., President and CEO of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. “It is important that our Congressional leaders understand the legislation and advocacy efforts of regional chambers to assure economic growth, job creation and workforce retention. This has become even more imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are fortunate to have Congressman Meuser representing the interests of businesses and non-profits across the 9th Congressional District in Congress, including the 782 members of our chamber.”
About the Spirit of Enterprise Award:
Since 1965, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has rated senators and members of Congress based on the votes they have cast for or against business priorities. While casting pro-growth votes remains essential, the U.S. Chamber now gives lawmakers credit for showing leadership on positive legislation and reaching across the aisle to get things done. By earning the 2020 Spirit of Enterprise award, Members of Congress have shown their commitment to not only supporting pro-business legislation, but also a commitment to the bipartisan leadership and constructive governing necessary to move our country forward.
