Meuser Secures $17 Million in FY26 Federal Investments Across PA-09
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that he has secured over $17 million in federal funding to support twelve major community projects across Pennsylvania’s Ninth District. The funding was included in three separate minibus appropriation packages for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26). These were passed by Congress over the last three months and signed into law by President Trump.
The Community Funding Project awards are the result of a continued partnership between Congressman Meuser, local leaders, and community partners to identify and deliver high-impact solutions across Northeast Central Pennsylvania that strengthen infrastructure, promote public health, expand workforce training, and improve community facilities.
Details of the twelve Community Funding Projects are outlined below:
Agriculture Appropriations Act, FY26
- $2,225,000 for Friendship Hose Co. No. 1 in Orwigsburg to construct a new fire station at the site of the existing facility, ensuring modern emergency response capability for the community.
- $2 million for the Temple Rural Dental College Campus in Tamaqua to construct a new dental education facility that will accommodate 20 dental students, increasing access to critical dental care across rural Pennsylvania.
- $750,000 for the Shenandoah Center for Health, Education, Business and the Arts to complete a new federally qualified health center and business incubator space in downtown Shenandoah.
- $2,346,849 for Wyoming County Healthcare Center Improvements to renovate and modernize the facility, reestablishing and expanding healthcare access for residents of Tunkhannock and surrounding communities.
- $1 million for the Danville Area Community Center to renovate program areas and construct new childcare and community spaces.
- $875,000 for the Bloomsburg Area YMCA Community Resource Hub to renovate and expand the facility, creating dedicated spaces and upgraded offices for its community hub that helps hundreds of residents access vital services.
Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, FY26
- $1,000,000 for the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority Transmission Water Main Replacement Project in Lycoming County to upgrade aging water infrastructure by installing a new 24-inch transmission main, including a river crossing, preventing system failures, and supporting long-term regional growth.
Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, FY26
- $3,500,000 for Dallas School District Community Center Improvements in Luzerne County to upgrade a wellness space serving the school district and Greater Back Mountain Region, expanding access to physical, social, and community wellness activities year-round.
- $1,400,000 for Shamokin Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades in Northumberland County to improve operational efficiency, enhance water quality, and help maintain affordable sewer rates for residents.
- $1,000,000 for Downtown Lebanon City Improvements in Lebanon County to construct a parking garage on an underutilized city-owned surface lot, addressing parking shortages and supporting economic revitalization, residential growth, and improved transit connectivity.
- $700,000 for the Old Airport Road Improvement Project in Luzerne County to reconstruct and improve drainage along approximately 1.2 miles of roadway, enhancing safety, stormwater management, and transportation reliability.
- $250,000 for the Pennsylvania College of Technology Forest Products Training Center in Lycoming County to support facility upgrades and equipment improvements, strengthening workforce training for careers in forest products and timber management.
