Meuser Statement on Sri Lanka Terror Attacks

POTTSVILLE, Pa.— Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-9) issued the following statement in response to the wave of terrorist bombings across Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday:

"These attacks were senseless and brutal. The deliberate murder and maiming of innocents – and the targeting of people of faith seeking to worship in peace – is cowardly and despicable," said Congressman Meuser. "Clearly we live in a dangerous world, and the threat of Islamic extremism remains as serious as ever. It is the first responsibility of our government to protect its citizens from such violence and keep our people safe. Our prayers go out to those who were so ruthlessly killed and injured from all over the world, especially our own citizens. We must continue our effort to stop those around the world who are plagued by hate. I will continue to support the President's efforts to fight Islamic extremism and terrorism, in our country and around the world."
