The Impacts of the Democrat-Led Shutdown in Pennsylvania's 9th District

This week, Congressman Dan Meuser traveled across PA09 to see firsthand how the Democrat-led Shutdown is impacting families, veterans, and vulnerable populations. 

He visited STEP, Inc. and its Head Start program, which supports children and families across Lycoming and Clinton Counties. Service providers are now reluctant to deliver essential food and supplies without guaranteed funding, and local banks are hesitant to issue loans amid financial uncertainty. 

At the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's Williamsport branch, Meuser saw how a lapse in SNAP funding could leave thousands without access to critical food assistance. He also met with the Lycoming Clinton Veteran Coalition, a network supporting local veterans, where many vital programs have already been disrupted. 

This Democrat-led shutdown is hurting hardworking Americans, many of whom risk or have already lost access to the support they rely on every day.
