Rep. Meuser Delivers Remarks on H.R. 6553

At the Financial Services Committee Republicans markup, Congressman Meuser spoke in support of of H.R. 6553, the TIER Act, introduced by Congressman Andy Barr which updates asset thresholds that haven’t changed since 2010—even after more than 40% inflation and years of economic growth.
The TIER Act ensures bank regulation remains risk-based, predictable, and proportional, so healthy institutions aren’t forced into large-bank regulatory regimes simply because their balance sheets have grown with the economy.
