Secretary Mayorkas has lied to Congress under oath on many occasions and has failed to enforce existing immigration laws, a violation of Article II of the Constitution. He is guilty of "willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law" and "breach of public trust" and was rightfully impeached by the House. Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats refusing to hold an impeachment trial of Secretary Mayorkas is an abdication of the Senate’s constitutional responsibility and an affront to the millions of Americans suffering from Biden’s Border Crisis. Never before has the Senate agreed to a motion to table articles of impeachment, and today’s action was an unprecedented act of partisanship by Senate Democrats.
