Meuser Joins Vice President Pence in Pennsylvania to Promote Passage of the USMCA

October 21, 2019

WASHINGTON — Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) today joined Vice President Mike Pence in Duryea, Pa. for a tour of SCHOTT North America Inc. at a National Association of Manufacturer's event to discuss the importance of passing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) for Pennsylvania farmers, workers, and businesses.

"Today's event with the Vice President reaffirmed the Administration's commitment to passing the USMCA. It is vital that we promote free, fair, and reciprocal trade, both globally and across the United States. Democrat leadership must stop playing political games and bring the USMCA to the House floor for a vote. It's time to put the American people over politics and pass the USMCA now. Pennsylvania businesses, farmers, manufacturers, and fabricators rely heavily on a balanced trading relationship with Mexico and Canada. In 2018, exports to Canada and Mexico totaled $15 billion in Pennsylvania alone," said Meuser. "Domestically, the USMCA will add approximately $68.8 billion to the U.S. economy and spur more than 175,000 jobs."
