WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) introduced H.R. 7959, the Safeguarding Homes from Illegal Entry, Living, and Dwelling (SHIELD) Act. The legislation would make trespassing a deportable offense for illegal aliens, as well as deem the migrant permanently inadmissible for entry into the United States.

During a recent appearance on Mornings with Maria, I discussed the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Following the interview, left-wing media outlets reported that I called President Biden’s proposal to use federal funds to rebuild the bridge “outrageous.”

These comments were taken out of context, as is clear to anyone who watched the interview in its entirety. I also clearly stated that rebuilding the bridge and reopening access to the port needs to occur.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) issued the below statement after securing $3,500,000 in federal funding for the Williamsport Levee Flood Control Project. This project will address the looming threat of significant flooding in Williamsport's economic core. The funding was included in FY24 Appropriations legislation recently signed into law.

Congressman Dan Meuser announced on Friday the allocation of $2,000,000 in federal funding for the construction of a backup Emergency Operations Center. 

This funding was incorporated into the Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriations legislation.

In a press release from Rep. Meuser, the new facility is said to be designed to meet the evolving needs of emergency management, the center will encompass essential components such as Emergency Management offices, an operations center, and an IT room, spanning an impressive 5,120 square feet.
