Congressman Dan Meuser, now in his fourth term, remains a staunch supporter of former President Trump and believes tariffs could bolster the United States' global economic standing.

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser this week said of all the priorities faced in Congress, none is more fundamental than ensuring public safety and protecting human life.

“And that responsibility rests squarely on the shoulders of our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, correction officers, and dispatchers,” said Rep. Meuser, R-Dallas. “These are the people on the front lines of our communities, putting themselves in danger every single day to keep the rest of us safe. They are the thin gold line that holds society together.”

The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed H.Res. 364, known as the Gold Shield Families Resolution.

Sponsored by Congressman Dan Meuser (R-PA-09), the bipartisan resolution aims to acknowledge the sacrifices made by families of fallen first responders and connect them with local community resources.

The resolution was inspired by Matt Guedes, Executive Director of Camp Freedom in Carbondale.

Managing to successfully muddle through a couple of political dust-ups, Northeast Pennsylvania’s federal and state legislators provided answers to questions on several key issues at Friday’s Back Mountain Chamber Legislative Breakfast.
