The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture met with some Pennsylvania farmers during a roundtable at a family-run dairy farm in Lebanon County.  Secretary Brooke Rollins joined US Congressman Dan Meuser, Senator Dave McCormick, and Congressman GT Thompson.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, Congressman Dan Meuser (R-PA9), Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA), Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA15), who is chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, and Congressman Rob Bresnahan (R-PA8) conducted a farm visitation tour at several farms in Lebanon and Lancaster counties. State Senator Chris Gebhard (R-SD48) also attended the event.

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, R-9th Dist., hosted a roundtable discussion on agriculture policy with Rollins during her tour through several Pennsylvania farms. The event, held at Martin’s Farm/Debrun Creek Farm in Myerstown, brought a group of farmers, industry leaders and elected officials to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Pennsylvania’s agriculture community.

Speaking before a crowd of farmers and federal lawmakers, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture stressed the importance of passing policies to help farms in Pennsylvania.

Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09), Co-Chair of the Congressional Coal Caucus, joined President Donald J. Trump at the White House on Tuesday, as he signed a sweeping Executive Order aimed at restoring America’s clean coal industry and reestablishing American energy dominance.

Congressman Dan Meuser (R) was also at the Butler rally where Trump was shot.

“It’s just terrible and needs to stop,” said Rep. Meuser (R). “One hundred percent of those who get in front of mics like this need to need to condemn any type of violence or hate speech.”

Congressman Dan Meuser sent a statement to CBS 21, expressing gratitude that the governor and his family are safe:

I’m thankful that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe following last night’s terrible incident. No elected official or their loved ones—regardless of party—should ever have their safety threatened for serving the public. We live in a country where we resolve our differences through debate, elections, and the rule of law—not through fear, intimidation, or violence.

What happened last night was not just an attack on one family—it was an attack on the values we all share as Americans. And it is particularly disgraceful that this occurred on Passover—a sacred time of faith, freedom, and reflection.

I’m grateful to the Pennsylvania State Police, Capitol Police, and the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire for their swift response and for protecting the Governor’s family. We owe them our thanks and our full support.

We must all stand united—Republicans and Democrats alike—in condemning these acts and making clear they will never be tolerated in our Commonwealth or our country. I look forward to these dangerous criminals being apprehended, prosecuted, and jailed to the fullest extent of the law.
