Vice President Kamala Harris’s proposal for a federal ban on price gouging in the food industry has drawn sharp criticism from Pennsylvania Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Penn., who told Newsmax the plan is misguided and harmful to small businesses.

The American Petroleum Institute (API) this week hosted a roundtable hearing in Luzerne County, welcomed by State Rep. Mike Cabell, U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser and other lawmakers, to discuss how Pennsylvania’s abundant natural gas and energy resources can enhance the reliability of the electric grid and attract major companies, like Amazon, to build AI data centers across the state.

Shamokin was awarded $2.675 million in federal funding from a 2022 Ukraine funding bill to remodel Independence Street as it aligns with GoShamokin’s initiative to revamp that area of the city. U.S. Rep Dan Meuser, R-9, worked to include the line item in the bill as a way to support Shamokin's revitalization efforts.
