POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) joined Senator David G. Argall, Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach, State Rep. Barry Jozwiak, Barry Schlouch, President of Schlouch Incorporated, and officials from NorthPoint Development at a groundbreaking for a one million square foot distribution center located in Berks Park 78, Bethel Township. This facility will deliver 400 permanent jobs and 150 immediate construction jobs for residents in the Berks County area.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded more than $928,000 to eleven fire departments across Pennsylvania's Ninth Congressional District through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. –Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded $319,609 to Bloomsburg University and $348,007 to Kutztown University through the Student Support Services Grant program (SSS). They were among 23 other higher education institutions in Pennsylvania that received nearly $8 million to help students succeed in pursuing a college degree:

POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that the Danville Area School District has been awarded a $1,011,753 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through their Head Start program. Head Start programs promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child. They strive to promote children's growth in a positive learning environment through a variety of services, focusing on early learning, health, and family well-being.

"I was taken by surprise, as many of us were, by Governor Wolf's recommendation that Pennsylvania schools delay interscholastic sports until January 1st.

Pottsville, PAToday, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced a $10 million grant for Hazleton Public Transit (HPT) from the U.S. Department of Transportation Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program. This program provides federal resources for transit capital projects for fixed route service providers:
"Public transit is a critical link in our transportation infrastructure," said Rep. Meuser, whose district includes HPT service areas in Carbon, Luzerne, and Schuylkill counties.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced that the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded a $331,595.24 grant to the Mt. Pleasant Fire Company in Bernville through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. The grant will also benefit two other fire departments serving Berks County residents.
